How many words are in the database?

Currently, the database contains 500+ words. Inversoft spends a lot of time working to ensure that each word in the database is valid. We also strive to ensure that we reduce false positives as much as possible. This means that our database excludes some words because they might be considered appropriate in certain contexts.

Can I try before I buy?

Yes. Inversoft provides an evaluation version of the database. We are planning to allow evaluation downloads from this website this summer. In the meantime, you can contact Inversoft via email at info@inversoft.com or toll-free at 1-888-423-7814 and we will send you an evaluation copy.

How is your database different than other solutions?

Our database is more than just a word list. The provide many feature not found in other solutions including regular expressions, context exclusions and much more. In addition, we work hard to ensure that our database contains the most relevant words for most applications and that the data will perform as well as possible.

Can I add words to the database?

You can add your own words to the database at any time. You can also remove our words from the database. Inversoft can also generate database entries for you if you send us your list of words (a small fee might be associated with this process depending on the number of words). Lastly, if you think you might be adding large numbers of words and adding words frequently, you can purchase a license for the Inversoft Profanity Database Creation Tool. This tool will help you generate custom database entries in much the same way that we do.

How many licenses do I need?

The Inversoft Profanity Database is licensed per application. In most cases, you will just need a single license. However, if you have multiple applications, building applications for numerous clients or want to be a reseller, you will need to purchase a license for each application.
